Daniel Smith Watercolour Grounds allow you to make almost any surface suitable for watercolour painting, from stone or wood to cloth, ceramic or plastic. This ground will also support collage, pastels, pencils and mixed media work.

This plastic tub contains 118ml (4 fl. oz.) of Daniel Smith Transparent Watercolour Ground. Because it is transparent, it allows the colour and the pattern of the substrate to show through, whether that be white paper, coloured or marbled paper, or wood-grain. This can create interesting effects with transparent or semi-transparent watercolours.
