Conte a Paris was founded by Nicolas Jacques Conte who created the pencil as we know it by mixing graphite with clay and introducing the possibility of different degrees of hardness. Charcoal sketching pencil from Conte a Paris gives the clean, dense finish of an intense black. Doesn't break so its easy to transport. Blends perfectly with iron red and sepia pencils. Allows you to draw more accurate and carefully drawn lines than traditional charcoal.
